May I introduce the latest member of our family - Bailey…bailey.jpg

The story…. Bailey was at our local town Pound. We had just stopped by on a whim to “see the dogs”. The plan wasn’t to adopt, but browse (or so I was told). Once we met him we decided that adopting was a good plan. The pound was closing and out the door we went, leaving name and number and promising to be back. $100 later between Wally World and PetCo we had all of the trappings and even a name.

Tuesday we put the crate in the car, and on a hunch called the pound. He was gone… the man who found him running, and caught him picked him up that morning. Our family was devistated (I had all necessities and now no dog!).

We went looking at another pound and settled on another dog. We weren’t as unified, but I had a crate to fill.

Morning 3 found me at a meeting and Heather calling every pound in the state to make sure we didn’t pass up the best dog for us. One of the pounds told her of a “friend” who had just picked up a stray and couldn’t keep him - he was a Schnauzer mix (hmmm…), was from our town (hhmmmmm….), was picked up on Tuesday (HHMMMMM!!!!), but the new owner couldn’t keep him due to an overflow of pets, and worked at a vet. Another call confirmed it was Bailey - and off we went.

We met the man who rescued him, were informed that he was a bit ill, had a rash, and needed neutered - but the vet was donating care for all his medical issues to anyone who would adopt him!

It’s morning number two with Bailey. He won’t leave the family more than five minutes (needs to know where everyone is at any time) and is currently sleeping at my feet. He’s house broken, barks at strangers, and is very tolerant of just about anything.

God works in mysterious ways. Someday I’ll tell you about my lawnmower.

Went to the Hairdresser… He is a Miniature Schnauzer afterall!
