taxes and secession

For anyone not paying attention… some fringe politicos in Vermont are trying to again secede from the union. They’re claiming that the current government has become an unmanageable empire.

While I don’t agree with their political bias, I do agree with the state of our national government.

From the Declaration of Independence… for those of you who don’t know… “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” (more…)

new decor

wanted to give the update to anyone who was wondering what the “grown up” furniture looked like. Apparently wives don’t count single guy futons as real furniture. I’ll be honest, this is more comfortable, although harder to pull Pokemon out from behind….

It’s been a while since I’ve played in this sandbox. Now you’re welcome to play too. I’ll get back logged information back up here some day, for now I’ve switched to Wordpress ‘cuz it’s very 2.0. Yeah baby.

More when I come unglued.

Cheers.

rocker guards

friend of a friend had a sheet of 3/8th inch diamond plate steel riding around in the bed of his truck. I had a bad need for some cosmetic fixes for my jeep. seemed like a perfect match.

the process: cut diamond plate with abrasive blade in circular saw (45 minutes a cut times 8 - 2 pieces for future bumper project). grind off rust and old paint. treat for rust and prime. 8x 1/4 inch holes in each for bolts. leave in basement for most of winter. prep for paint and prime again, finish with truck bed liner.
